Make a Difference

When you join the Club team, you become part of an ongoing tradition of making a difference.

We Make a Difference for Our Members

Member Service: It's what we're all about.

No matter where you work within our organization, you're in the member service business. Even if you work behind the scenes, what you do and how you do it ultimately helps our members, our communities and the public. We make a difference in people's lives.

Member ServicesWe offer many services to our members: travel, insurance, financial, car buying and road assistance. Many of those services provide real peace of mind to our members. For instance:

  • Our 24-hour dispatchers, "highway heroes," send out service vehicles to rescue motorists with dead batteries, flat tires and other vehicle emergencies
  • Our travel agents help members plan that trip of a lifetime
  • Disaster SupportOur claims representatives provide assistance to insured members recovering from loss or damage to their homes and vehicles
  • Our information systems staff keep data and computer systems running smoothly

Wherever they are, our employees take pride in their work. They also take pride in the fact that what they do every day helps make a difference.

We Make a Difference in Our Communities

Automotive and Road Safety: We have a long history of helping our communities and the public. In the early days of the automobile, we pioneered the modern highway patrol and supported uniform motor vehicle codes. Today we continue to advocate for safer cars, roads and drivers. For example, we:

  • Automotive TestingTest and evaluate automobile technology and equipment for safety and efficiency
  • Support legislation that promotes safer, less congested roads
  • Get involved at state, regional and local levels to make sure motorists' interests are represented in transportation laws and public policy.
  • Provide Tipsy Tow, a free tow home on select holidays like New Year's Eve and 4th of July for drivers who have been drinking
  • Co-sponsored graduated driver license legislation for teen drivers
  • Make safety presentations at schools
  • Host driver education classes for teens and seniors
  • Hold car care fairs to familiarize the public with proper car maintenance

Community Outreach: We impact our local communities by supporting charities such as the American Red Cross, United Way and other local service agencies.
